Atlantic Wall Walks and Talks
Despite the new regulations, we adapted to the ‘maximum of six’ and managed to squeeze in three small-scale talks/walks in late September 2020about the French Resistance’s involvement in attacking the Atlantikwall, recreated in 1943 on Hankley Common in south-west Surrey.
A total of 15 Friends and Supporters participated across the three occasions. If we needed any further evidence of the vagaries of British weather, on one day we had a first walk in warm sunshine and blue skies, but the group that set off one and a half hours later suffered thunder, strong winds and heavy rain. But we had a good time and it was excellent to see some new faces/recruits.
