This, the true story of the 1942 operation which ‘inspired’ the recently released Guy Ritchie film ‘Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’, was presented by Ashley Barnett, Trustee, Treasurer and Projects Officer of SECRET WW2.

Drawing on wartime files and original photographs, Ashley gave a fascinating and factual presentation, attracting a sizeable audience and much interest. Notable characters involved included Anders Lassen (above left), then with SOE, but later of SAS and VC fame, and Ian Fleming (above right) of Naval Intelligence – later creator of 007.
